Undergraduate Scholarships in Chemical and Petroleum Engineering
We are fortunate to have a large scholarship programs in Chemical Engineering. This coupled with low tuition and fees combine to make KU very affordable. Over 75% of our students are on scholarship support from the Department. Our awards range from $ 2000 - $ 5000 per year and are generally renewable for up to 4 years ( 5 years if you have a semester abroad).
In addition, scholarships are available from the School of Engineering and the University of Kansas office of student financial aid. Many of our students receive scholarship support from all three sources. Please feel free to contact us if you have questions about scholarship availability. We can usually provide you with an offer within a day or two. The total scholarship package that you can be offered could cover the entire cost of your education.
Factors considered in the selection process of recipients will include:
- ACT Scores
- Grade Point Average
- High School Class Rank
- Activities
To apply for these awards, apply to the KU requesting admission
to the School of Engineering and scholarship consideration. Your application
will be forwarded to the department for consideration. The priority deadline
is January 15th.
Late Applications will be considered. We make
many "late" awards at the departmental level; so don't despair if you
have missed the priority deadline. Apply as above. Be sure to write a
short letter to the department including your GPA, ACT/SAT scores, class
rank, etc., so that we can get in touch with you.
