Summary

Nijat Hakimov is a Master’s student in Petroleum Engineering at the University of Kansas. His research focuses on characterization of rocks with a wide range of pore sizes, such as carbonates, and combines Pore-Network Modeling with Machine Learning techniques to study their electrical and transport properties. As a part of his research, Nijat has been working on the development of algorithms and workflows for subsurface characterization at the micro and macro scales. Before joining the University of Kansas, he worked for more than 2 years as Petroleum and Reservoir Engineer for BP and SOCAR in Azerbaijan. Nijat holds BSc degree (with honors) in Petroleum Engineering from Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University.
