Chemical Engineering Bachelor of Science

B.S. Premedical Emphasis

Students have the opportunity to add an area of emphasis to their Chemical Engineering (ChE) degree. In the Premedical emphasis, this does add hours to the required curriculum, to complete requirements necessary for admission to medical schools and successful performance on the MCAT exam.

The Premedical Emphasis option requires students to complete premed requirements including biology, biochemistry, genetics, social sciences, physiology, advanced organic chemistry, and biologically oriented ChE elective courses.

Students with this emphasis may also have interests in medical and biologically oriented career fields. However, completion of this emphasis does not limit students' opportunities in any one of a wide array of entities hiring Chemical Engineers, nor does it obligate them to take the MCAT exam or pursue medical school in the future.
