Chemical Engineering Bachelor of Science

B.S. Petroleum Emphasis

Students have the opportunity to add an area of emphasis to their Chemical Engineering (ChE) degree. In most cases, this does not represent additional hours, but instead directs students towards specific courses that will further their knowledge base in that particular area of study.

The Petroleum Emphasis option encourages students to further explore applications of ChE in the oil and gas industries. This emphasis directs students towards geology, reservoir engineering, and drilling to fulfill ChE elective course requirements.

Students with this emphasis option may have interest in petroleum-oriented career fields. However, completion of this emphasis does not limit students' opportunities in any one of a wide array of entities hiring Chemical Engineers.
